Earth Day Recycled 5K Run, 1-Mile Walk & Trail Clean Up
Celebrate Earth Day with a run and a purpose at the Earth Day Recycled 5K Run & Trail Clean Up on the Union Pacific Railroad Trail. Get active while giving back to the community by participating in this eco-friendly event in Henderson. The 5K run and 1-mile walk begin promptly at 10 a.m., followed by a trail and park cleanup at Cornerstone Park from 11 a.m. to noon. Unused bibs, souvenir t-shirts, and medals from previous runs will be repurposed, making this a sustainable way to get moving. All fitness levels are welcome. The event takes place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Cornerstone Park, located at 1600 Wigwam Pkwy. Be sure to wear comfortable running or athletic clothing. Registration fees start at $15 through March 15, increasing to $20 from March 16 through April 4, and $25 for day-of registration until 9:30 a.m.

Henderson Shines Community Cleanup
Henderson Shines is an annual community cleanup and recycling event where residents can responsibly dispose of household hazardous materials like paint, oil, and batteries, as well as donate or recycle other items. Last year, over 60 cubic yards of paint, 30 cubic yards of oil, and 1,000 pounds of e-waste were collected. The event will take place on Galleria Drive, with cars entering from Patrick Lane. It will end at 1 p.m. or when capacity is reached, so arriving early is recommended. Accepted items include household goods (Goodwill), gently used books (Spread the Word Nevada), e-waste (Blind Center of Nevada), and non-perishable food (Salvation Army). Paper shredding is drop-off only (limit of four banker boxes). Paint, oil, and batteries will be accepted following hazardous waste guidelines. Tires will not be accepted. Arrive early to participate and help keep Henderson clean!

Wetlands: Hands On! April
Join Wetlands: Hands On! (WHO), a monthly community service program dedicated to restoring and improving Wetlands Park. Volunteers will work on various projects while exploring different areas of the park and learning about its ecosystem. Parking is on Hollywood Boulevard, about half a mile east of the Sunrise Trailhead, with access via an unpaved road. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. Tour de Summerlin
Tour de Summerlin offers three different ride distances (20, 40, 80 mile) for your enjoyment. Whether you’re a hard core rider or just enjoy getting out on the bike, each bike route offers plenty of bike lanes, beautiful scenery and unique riding experiences. Online registration is now open. Participants 15 and under must be accompanied on the 20-mile ride by a parent or guardian. eBikes (electric bikes are allowed). All registered participants will receive an event t-shirt and medal. This is not a timed event. Packet pickup will be Friday, April 25, 2025 from 12pm – 6pm at Trek Bicycle: 4035 S. Fort Apache Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89147. Need a Bike?
